The Taoiseach, Micheal Martin, spoke about the murder of Ashling Murphy on the Late Late Show tonight.
Speaking about the tragic death of the young woman, Martin said that Ms. Murphy was a terrible loss to her family and the school where she worked. He said that “women should feel safe in Ireland” and a tragedy like this should not happen again.
He also spoke about a government strategy that is being prepared to address the issue of violence against women generally and that society, communities and government must work together to change the culture of the country so that women can feel safe.
