Martin: I am ‘absolutely committed’ to serving as your Taoiseach for the next three years

The Taoiseach is under immense pressure tonight, but claims that he will continue on as leader and indeed finish out the term of government, continuing as Fianna Fail leader.

However, with the diabolical presidential campaign that saw Jim Gavin pull out, Martin may well soon fall on his sword following tonight’s review.

Micheál Martin praised the ambition of a new draft program for government recently, which is anticipated to result in the creation of Ireland’s next government, and said that he is “absolutely committed” to serving for three years as Taoiseach, reports Breaking News.

Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael had parliamentary party meetings to approve the 162-page program, which was released recently.

Among the initiatives are additional gardaí, smaller class sizes, and lower childcare expenses, reports Breaking News.

Mr. Martin will continue to serve as Taoiseach until November 16, 2027, according to the government plan that was agreed upon by the two major parties and independent TDs, reports Breaking News.

After then, it will alternate for at least two years under Simon Harris, the head of Fine Gael.

Mr. Martin expressed his desire to serve as Taoiseach a second time to RTÉ.

He added: “I am absolutely committed to serving out the term because there is an agenda of change and I will work every day of those three years to do what I can to get this programme for government delivered to make life better for people,” reports Breaking News.
