Martin: I cannot rule out that pubs might remain closed for the remainder of 2020

It’s not looking as though we’ll be meeting our friends for a pint anytime soon.

Newly appointed Taoiseach Micheal Martin cannot rule out that pubs might remain closed for the remainder of the year.

In a further blow to the hospitality industry, pubs that serve food and restaurants will need to close by 11pm, following a meeting of Cabinet ministers today. During the meeting, it was decided that Ireland would not move to Phase 4 of lockdown easing just yet.

Covid-19 has killed 1,763 people in Ireland so far.
