Martin: I still wear a mask in certain locations and I’m not bothered about it

The Taoiseach Micheal Martin put the candle out on whether the mandatory mask rule will be binned, like it is in the UK, after saying that he still wears a mask even though he’s been double vaxxed. Speaking on Newstalk, Martin was asked whether more easing will happen, including mandatory mask wearing and he skated around the issue by declaring that he still wears a mask in certain locations even though he has been double vaxxed himself.

He said that the next worry will be what happens in winter time, how long is the efficacy of the vaccine works and then there’s the need for the booster vaccine.

Martin: Europe is already preparing for 2022 and 2023 for booster vaccines

Asked about Ireland getting a ‘Freedom Day, he said that “I think all this talk about freedom day, the last pandemic 100 years ago didn’t end on on day, but it will peter out”.
