Arson attacks on structures across the nation designated for the use of asylum seekers, according to Tánaiste Micheál Martin, “is a very fundamental undermining of our democratic order,” reports Breaking News.

The leader of Fianna Fáil stated that two Fianna Fáil councillors in County Galway who voiced strong criticism of the government’s immigration policy are currently the subject of a disciplinary procedure.

This came following an alleged December arson attack on a closed motel in Rosscahill that was supposed to shelter seventy asylum seekers.

“That process is underway,” he said on RTÉ’s This Week programme, reports Breaking News.

“Particularly in the world we live in today with strong litigation and so on, people are entitled to come forward, make their case, and there’s a very set procedure and processes involving a national executive,” reports Breaking News.
