Martin says Sinn Fein led left wing Government is unlikely and his party is ready to engage in talks with other parties

Mícheál Martin has said that it’s very unlikely that Sinn Féin will have the numbers to form a government.

Speaking following a meeting with Fine Gael leader Leo Varadkar, Martin said that the possibility of a left wing government is looking less possible given that the numbers aren’t there.

Martin who revealed that he has already begun talks with the Green Party said that he is aware that the people voted for change.

He stated that the key points from this election was that people want issues such as homelessness and health addressed and therefore his party is committed to doing that.

The Fianna Fáil leader who agreed that the formation of Government in the coming weeks is unlikely, said that he is ready to engage in talks with other parties and Independents.
