Last August the fight world was treated to a spectacle or farce (whatever way you see it) when Floyd Mayweather Jnr took on Conor Mcgregor in a boxing match.

Well now it seems we could be set to see the pair squaring off once again as Mayweather has revealed that he is currently in the process of applying for MMA licence.

Mayweather who was been linked with a bizare switch to the octagon in recent months, has once again added fuel to the fire in regards to a possible rematch between the pair after he told TMZ Sports that he has applied for a MMA licence.

Speaking to the sports website over the weekend Mayweather said that he has set himself a realistic target in order to prepare for a MMA fight and that he is hopeful that he can obtain a licence.

The 41 year old boxer who extended his unbeaten streak to 50-0 against Mcgregor last August, told TMZ Sports the following: “Everything takes time, and eventually, we’re gonna apply for the license and hopefully we can fight.”

“I’ll probably need a little bit longer (time),” Mayweather added. “Even if it takes six to eight months, whatever it takes, we’re gonna make sure that everything is done correctly, and everything is done the right way.”

Although Mayweather is known to pull publicity stunts to further promote his brand, many in the fighting world stateside believe that ‘Money’ may be serious about stepping inside the octagon for a major showdown later this year.

What do you think? Is Mayweather serious about a UFC fight or is he just further promoting his brand!.
