McDonald says Government formation is not the change people voted for but says Sinn Fein are ready to be in opposition

The Sinn Fein leader Mary Lou McDonald has said that the current Government formation between Fine Gael, Fianna Fail and the Green party is not the change that people voted for, but reiterated that her party is ready to be in opposition.

Speaking following Monday’s announcement that a future Government has been all but agreed, McDonald said that the coalition doesn’t represent the change people voted for but instead states the exact opposite.

McDonald who said that both Fine Geal and Fianna Fail excluded her party from talks, stated that this agreement is more of the same and will continue broken politics that has effected workers and their families.

Although McDonald accepted that another General Election would be unwise given the current Covid-19 pandemic, she did state that her party is ready to be in opposition and they will be pcoherent and effective.
