McDonalds forced to get involved in online row and confirm that burgers have not changed in size

A row broke out on social media over claims that the size of burgers in McDonald’s Australia has shrunk has forced the fast food chain to step in and deny that this happened.

According to the Daily Star, the claims came from a Facebook group where users said that the burgers had gone “kid-size”, insisting that burgers like the Fillet-o-Fish and McChicken sandwich were now smaller.

One enraged customer said “Have McDonald Fillet-o-Fish always been this small?  I don’t remember it being mini, kid-size like this?!”

Another person said that Quarter Pounder “got its name as it was a quarter pound of beef, it’s barely that now.”

While another said that she had Big Macs recently and “Not only have the buns shrunk but the meat patties were so thin we could see literally through them.  Was as if they sliced them in half”

McDonalds were forced to come out and deny the claims, with a spokesman saying “There have been no changes to the size of the burgers.  We are committed to offering our customers great quality, great value burgers featuring 100 per cent RSPCA approved chicken and 100 per cent Aussie beef.”
