The Minister for Justice Helen McEntee and her husband Paul are expecting their second child in December, it’s been confirmed.
The Meath East TD last year became the first cabinet minister to take maternity leave.
She has agreed to a pairing or voting deal with TD Social Democrat Holly Cairns for the duration of her maternity leave.
While she was away, Minister Heather Humphreys took over her justice portfolio.
Tonight McEntee posted a photo of her son wearing an ‘I’m going to be a big brother’ t-shirt with the caption ‘Michael has some news to share’.
It’s believed that McEntee intends to take maternity leave later this year.
