Think you’re a McGregor super fan? Has your poem about the Notorious gone viral?

Super fan Andy Conway, 29, wrote a poem dedicated to the Notorious Conor McGregor just before his title fight with Jose Aldo kicked off on Saturday. The Dubliner claimed the title after an amazing 13 seconds in the ring, making him the Unified UFC Featherweight Champion of the World.

Andy, who works for the Irish Defense Forces but has been a singer/ songwriter in the past, had his poem shared 2,912 times in 24 hours.

It reads:

“An Irish man called Conor,

“Went across the sea,

“He talked about his homeland,

“His dreams and Destiny,

“He brought a country with him,

“His fighting style unknown,

“Las Vegas it is Irish,

“We’ve settled here it’s home,

“His movement it will question,

“How the champ reacts,

“He’s giving him 4 minutes,

“Then Aldo’s on his back,

“And as the whole world watches,

“This island we will sing,

“This Irish son is Unified,

“Mcgregor is the King!

“We’re not here to take part,

“We’re here to take over………”

The poem has been well received and shared among the McGregor fandom, with many prompting Andy to write a song about the Notorious.

McGregor himself has yet to comment on Andy’s efforts, but he did have this to say on social media following his unbelievable 13 second KO of Jose Aldo.

“Thank you for all the kind messages! I am extremely grateful and proud to be in the position I am in. To the naked eye it was 13 seconds, but to my team and my family it has been a lifetime of work to get to that 13 seconds.

“Congratulations to the staff at the UFC on a historic week in the sports history and an amazing 2015 for the company. It is an honor to be playing a part in this great companies continued growth and success and an honor to top off a phenomenal week in the sports history.

“Thank you to all the fans who travelled and made this week what it was!! The traveling Irish are untouchable when it comes to creating the atmosphere needed to make a week like this what it was!!

“I am forever blown away by the support of my country. We have changed the game forever!!!

“Respect to a great champion in Jose Aldo. The true greats will always overcome adversity. I wish him and his loyal team well on their journey back.

“Much respect. Thank you all!!!”
