Meath Councillor Sharon Keogan makes history by becoming first woman to win seats in two constituencies

Duleek woman Sharon Keogan was heavily recognised in last weeks’s election for her tireless work in the constituency over the past five years.

Not only did she top the poll but she also managed to make history and get elected in a second Meath constituency – something that’s never been done by a woman before in Ireland.

Sharon told The Liberal:
“I’m absolutely delighted. It’s history making and I’m delighted that the hard work on the ground in both the electoral areas has paid off. Most of my support came from the smaller villages and rural areas that are forgotten by many councillors. Councillors are mainly only interested in the larger towns. People have voted for Keogan, they will still get Keogan and her team to deliver on the ground for them.”

Well done to her! The Meath woman says she’s looking forward to working in both areas over the coming five years.
