Establishment media deafeningly silent about one of the greatest diplomatic achievements in the past 70 years.
The historic meeting between the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, and his South Korean counterpart President Moon Jae-In has led to an agreement to finally end the Korean War, after a 65-year long ceasefire and completely “denuclearise” the Korean peninsula.
None of this would have come about however, if not for the efforts and skilful diplomatic and military manoeuvring of U.S President Donald Trump.
The diplomatic pressure on China to impose sanctions on its North Korean ally, the flexing of military power and offer of normalising of relationships and friendship from President Trump all coalesced to bring about this historic moment.
When President Trump dispatched CIA director and now Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for secret talks with Kim Jong Un peace in Korea and the avoidance of a nuclear conflict was masterfully avoided by President Trump.
Mainstream media however, has been quick to downplay President Trump’s role and it is likely the President will not become a deserved Nobel Peace Prize Laureate due to establishment political and media pressure.
