Members of Fianna Fail call for Leo Varadkar’s resignation over Zappone party but stay silent about Coveney’s role in gifting a tax-payer funded job to a friend

As “MerrionGate” rumbles on it serves an an excellent distraction, taking the limelight away from Minister Simon Coveney who admitted “developing” a job for one specific person, failed politician Katherine Zappone.

Just to keep the “MerrionGate story in the limelight, we now bizarrely have Ogra Fianna Fail, calling for a politician in their coalition government to resign.

Ogra Fianna Fail, who represent the Youth wing if Fianna Fail has called on Leo Varadkar to resign and accused him of “gross double standards” over Merriongate according to the Irish Mirror.

A spokesman for the Fianna Fáil youth wing said: “Mr. Varadkar has undermined his own authority on matters of public health, but has also undermined fellow government ministers by association.”

“Why is such a gross double standard allowed in cases where Mr Varadkar has a personal interest?”
“Ógra Fianna Fáil cannot reconcile the negligence of Mr. Varadkar with the very important role he holds in government.”
Simon Coveney still holds onto his own ministerial position as the political classes continue to chatter and provide light entertainment to the masses about “MerrionGate”.
