Met Eireann has confirmed the end of the cold spell by Wednesday of the coming week, but heavy rain and strong winds are on the way.
According to the national forecaster, Monday and Tuesday will remain dry but rather chilly, with daytime temperatures barely reaching 5-6C.
From Wednesday onwards, more unsettled weather will make an appearance, with heavy rain at times potentially leading to localized flooding.
The only good news is that temperatures will climb to 11-12C.
