Met Eireann is forecasting a brief period of sunshine this morning before miserable conditions return later in the day and stay for the rest of the week.
According to the national forecaster, there will be some sunny spells for a while, but cloud cover will begin building towards the afternoon and evening, leading to outbreaks of rain.
The outlook is for unsettled weather to remain for the rest of the week and into the weekend.
