Met Eireann is forecasting a period of warm, settled weather this week, with temperatures reaching 17C across some areas on St. Patrick’s Day.

An area of high pressure west of Ireland will bring good conditions, following a spell of stormy, miserable weather over the past few days.

The outlook for today, Monday, is for cloudy weather overall, with a few bright spells throughout the day, and temperatures reaching 14C. Tuesday will see better, drier conditions, with the thermometer rising to 16C.

St. Patrick’s Day is looking like a bright, dry, and sunny day, with highs of 17C in the afternoon.

Early predictions say that the spell of mild and settled weather is likely to last into the weekend.
