Met Eireann is forecasting a warm and showery Saturday, with temperatures reaching mid-20s at best.
But according to the national forecaster, the weather is expected to turn hotter next week, with thermometers soaring to 27C and possibly beyond.
In the meantime, Sunday is likely to be a mixed day of showers and sunshine.
