The national forecaster is warning of a dramatic change in the weather as a cold spell approaches again.

Temperatures reached a very respectable 18C-19C in places today, and it will remain rather mild tomorrow, Wednesday, as the thermometer reaches 16C. There will be some rain across the west, but the rest of the country will remain mostly dry.

Thursday and Friday are forecast to be mostly dry and mild days, with temperatures again reaching 18C on Thursday, and a little less on Friday.

Saturday is likely to be cloudy but relatively mild, with the best weather expected in the south.

The weather will begin to change for the worse by Sunday morning, with widespread showers expected throughout Easter Sunday and Monday, turning wintry at times.
