Met Eireann is forecasting heavy showers and thunderstorms throughout the weekend, but better weather is on the way.
According to the national forecaster, the weather will remain very unsettled over the next 48h, with periods of sunshine mixed with thunderstorms and heavy showers, particularly towards late afternoon and early evening.
Early indications show a return to warm and settled conditions by the 24th of this month as high pressure builds up again.
