Met Eireann forecasts snow for some parts of the country as temperatures plummet




Met Eireann forecasts snow for some parts of the country as temperatures set to plummet throughout the day.

According to the national forecaster, some areas around the northwest of the country will experience hail, sleet, and snow, mostly on high ground.

Wednesday night is expected to be rather cold, with temperatures sinking to below zero at times.

Thursday’s weather is forecast to be wintry, with heavy showers falling as snow and sleet at times, mainly around hills in Connacht and Ulster.

Friday is likely to be a cold and wet day, with winds picking up speed as the day goes on.

The current forecast for the weekend is for milder temperatures reaching 11-12C at times, and some showers.
