Friday night is likely to see the thermometer drop to 0C, and even further down on Saturday night, when lows of -2C are possible in some areas.
The outlook is for a period of unsettled weather to hit Ireland over the next few days, with periods of sunshine mixed with showers and afternoon temperatures in the mid-teens.
