Met Eireann has issued a nationwide Status Yellow warning due to strong winds and the possibility of coastal flooding.
The warning kicked in at 11am today, and will remain in place until 6am on Sunday.
According to the national forecaster, strong northerly winds with gusts of up to 100km/h will lash large swathes of the country over the next 36h.
