Met Eireann issues Status Orange warning for fire risk due to high temperatures




The national forecaster has issued a Status Orange warning for fire risk due to high temperatures.

It is understood that a number of gorse and barn fires broke out on Saturday.

The warm weather is set to continue for at least another 48 hours, despite earlier predictions of a turn in the weather today.

Easter Monday is set to bring temperatures of 21-22C at times.
