Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow thunderstorm warning affecting 11 counties.
The warning, which covers counties Cavan, Monaghan, Dublin, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Galway, Leitrim, and Roscommon, will remain in effect until 10pm.
According to the national forecaster, many areas around these counties will experience heavy showers, thundery at times.
