Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow warning for 19 counties ahead of the arrival of miserable weather conditions over the weekend.
The warning, which covers the entirety of Leinster and Munster plus Co. Galway, will come into effect at 4pm on Friday afternoon and remain in place until midnight.
According to the national forecaster, many areas around these regions will experience very heavy downpours, which may lead to localized flooding.
