Met Éireann has warned of the possibility of “hazardous travel conditions” on roadways and issued a Status Yellow fog warning for the majority of the nation, reports The Mirror.
Clare, Limerick, Tipperary, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, and Monaghan counties, as well as the entirety of Connacht, will all be affected by the alert.
The warning will be in effect until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, having gone into effect at 7 p.m. on Monday, reports The Mirror.
Met Éireann issued the warning, stating that “fairly widespread” fog and mist are anticipated, with some areas seeing severe fog. Poor visibility and dangerous driving conditions are two possible effects, the national forecaster cautioned.
The most recent prognosis from Met Éireann states that the fog and mist, which will be dense in some areas, will be sluggish to lift on Tuesday morning and remain in some places into the afternoon. Though there may be the occasional patch of precipitation on western beaches, a mostly dry day with sunshine is predicted, reports The Mirror.
In a mild, fluctuating breeze, the greatest temperatures we may anticipate range from 7 to 11 degrees Celsius.
Tuesday night is expected to be mostly dry with light, variable winds and patches of mist and fog that build and even thick in some spots.Overnight, though, it will get cloudier in some areas of the north and west, with sporadic areas of light drizzle and showers forming. The lowest temperatures will typically be between 2 and 5 degrees Celsius, reports The Mirror.
