The national forecaster has issued two weather warnings as severe weather approaches.
A Status Yellow warning for strong winds covers Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Dublin, Louth, Meath , Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, and Clare.
Met Eireann has issued a Status Orange warning for Co. Donegal, which is already affected by an ice warning
Winds of up to 120km/h are expected across some of these areas.
