The first person to die from Covid-19-related causes in Ireland has been identified as an elderly woman from Kildare, who had health issues for some time.
In a worrying development, health authorities said that the patient was infected in a case of ‘community-transmission’.
There are currently 43 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ireland, and 18 in the north at this time with further cases to be announced today.
