Met Eireann has issued an updated weather forecast for the coming days, with a cold spell just around the corner.
According to the national forecaster, high pressure will dominate the first half of the week, but conditions are likely to turn unsettled towards the second half and into Christmas weekend.
Current indications point to a cold and mostly dry Christmas Day, though some long-range forecasts appear to suggest that some parts of Ireland might see snow on the big day, though this is far from certain at this point.
