Met Eireann has issued an urgent nationwide Status Yellow warning for low temperatures as thermometers are set to sink to -5C in places overnight.
The warning will kick in at 9pm and remain in place until 10am tomorrow morning.
According to the national forecaster, cold weather conditions will continue until Friday at least, with the possibility of even colder weather arriving next week.
