Met Eireann has issued an urgent Status Yellow warning covering 10 counties as weather conditions worsen.
The warning, which covers all of Munster plus counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, and Wexford, will kick in at 6pm on Thursday evening and remain in place until Friday morning.
According to the national forecaster, many areas around these counties will experience heavy rain, which may lead to localized flooding.
