Met Eireann has issued an urgent weather warning for 12 counties as stormy conditions approach.
A warning for strong winds affecting counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, and Waterford will come into effect at 9pm on Tuesday evening and remain in place until 9am on Wednesday.
The national forecaster is predicting wind speeds of up to 100km/h.
