The national forecaster has predicted a cold day ahead, with a strong possibility of sleet and snow over higher ground.
Daytime temperatures will remain in single digits, reaching 6-7C at best.
There will also be some heavy downpours mainly across Munster and Leinster, giving way to a cold night with lows of 1C.
Cleanup operations continue today, in the wake of Storm Brendan’s damaging winds that left debris scattered around many roads, and thousands of people without power.
