Grim weather ahead, according to Met Eireann, with hail, rain, and the possibility of thunderstorms forecast for the next few days.
Today, Bank Holiday Monday, will remain relatively calm, with bright and mostly dry conditions predominant.
Cloud cover will increase as the day goes on, with widespread rain developing overnight.
Tuesday will be a rather damp and dull day, and things will take a turn for the worse by Tuesday evening, with long spells of heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms, mostly across western and southern areas.
Wednesday won’t fare any better, as long, heavy showers are forecast, some of them in the form of hail.
The rest of the week will bring more of the same, as further spells of heavy rain are expected by Friday.
