Met Eireann is predicting thunderstorms over the coming weekend and a return to rainy conditions next week.
The national forecaster has added an extra day to its heat advisory warning, which was due to expire on Friday morning. It will now remain in place until Saturday at least, as temperatures in the high 20s or early 30s are forecast for the next 24h.
After that, Met Eireann is saying that scattered thunderstorms are likely to develop during Saturday and Sunday.
Monday will see a marked change in the weather, with rain showers developing throughout the day, particularly in western areas.
