The national forecaster is predicting a period of very unsettled weather this week, with a mix of sunny spells and heavy rain, and temperatures dropping to 8C at times.
This week’s weather is likely to be influenced by the recently declared La Niña event, a weather phenomenon known to disrupt the jet stream over the Atlantic.
While Met Eireann is not forecasting any extreme weather events, conditions are set to remain unpleasant for most of the week and possibly into the weekend.
