Met Eireann repeats its warning of a ‘sudden stratospheric warming’ event in the coming weeks, similar to what prompted the ‘Beast from the East’ back in 2018

Met Eireann is again warning of the increasing likelihood of a ‘sudden stratospheric warming’ (SSW) event in the coming weeks.

This is something similar to what prompted the ‘Beast from the East’ back in 2018, which brought a deep freeze to Ireland and other countries.

The national forecaster is warning that, if it comes to pass, the event might hit sometime in March.

The actual outcome and impact of this event remain uncertain.
