Met Eireann say some parts of the country could experience a White Christmas although it is highly unlikely that we will have a lot of snow

Are you hoping for a white Christmas? Well it could still be on the cards for some living in high regions as Met Eireann say that temperatures will drop over the coming weeks.

Although the national forecaster does say the country will more likely experience high winds appears and heavy rainfall on over the Christmas period. The forecaster says that high regions of Ireland will get a chance to experience a dusting of snow on Christmas day due to falling temperatures on Christmas week with the rest of the expected to experience some rainfall or sleet instead.

Met Eireann also say that the majority of the country will experience high gale force winds along with heavy rainfall as we approach the new year with temperatures picking back up again heading into January.
