Met Éireann have issued a yellow status wind warning for county Donegal.
In its forecast for Saturday, Met Eireann say winds of 50 to 65km/h, with gusts of 90 to 110km/h are expected in the region.
They say the warning will remain in place from 6am until 8pm this evening.
Meanwhile the National forecaster say today will be a cold day with showers spread throughout the day with some becoming wintry on higher ground particularly in Ulster and northern Connacht.
They added that it will be a blustery day with winds coming from the Southwest.
