Met Eireann says brace for it: Temps about to drop to -4c as cold snap to hit Ireland hard




The week is expected to conclude with a spell of cold weather, as temperatures are forecast to fall to as low as minus four degrees.

Met Éireann has predicted that temperatures will dip to minus four on Friday night, bringing a very cold night with widespread frost and icy conditions, reports Breaking News.

Thursday is set to be wet for much of the country and will become breezy. Spells of rain will persist, particularly across the northern half, while further south there will be some bright or sunny intervals accompanied by scattered showers.

Heavy downpours are possible, with a risk of spot flooding. Top temperatures will range from three to nine degrees, reports Breaking News.

Thursday night will turn cold, with frost and icy patches developing as northerly winds gradually moderate. Lowest temperatures are expected to range from minus three to two degrees.

Friday will begin with frost and ice in some areas; however, it will be largely dry overall with sunny spells, reports Breaking News.

Isolated showers are forecast, mainly affecting eastern and northern coastal areas, with some wintry falls.

Maximum temperatures will reach only three to six degrees, with mostly moderate northerly winds. Friday night will be extremely cold and icy, with temperatures between minus four and plus one degrees, reports Breaking News.

Saturday will be dry but very cold, with widespread frost and icy conditions. Cloud will slowly increase over the western half of the country during the afternoon, with wet and fairly windy weather developing and spreading eastwards later in the evening.

Highest temperatures will be just four to seven degrees, reports Breaking News.

Saturday night is expected to be wet and windy, with the possibility of wintry showers.
