Met Eireann is this afternoon saying that temperatures will plunge as low as -5C over the coming days as Ireland is gripped by cold spell.
According to the national forecaster, high pressure will dominate weather patterns, meaning dry and settled conditions, with deep cold at times.
Early forecasts point to the possibility of snow next week, but that’s far from confirmed.
