Met Eireann is this evening saying that the current cold spell will come to an end this week, but changeable conditions will remain during the next few days.

Monday and Tuesday will see cloudy conditions mixed with sunshine and outbreaks of rain across the northwest. Temperatures will rise to about 13C by Tuesday afternoon.

Wednesday is forecast to also be rather cloudy, with the sun breaking through at times, and temperatures will be noticeably milder, reaching 14-15C at times.

Thursday is likely to be a largely dry day, with similar temperatures as the previous day.
