Met Eireann has upgraded its weather warning for this evening ahead of the arrival of horrid weather conditions.
The warning, which covers the whole of Leinster, plus counties Cavan, Monaghan, Tipperary, and Waterford, has now been upgraded to Orange, the second highest rating.
According to Met Eireann, many areas around these counties will experience very heavy rain and possibly thunderstorms overnight, leading to hazardous driving conditions and localized flooding.
