Met Eireann is today warning of a ‘turbo-charged’ jet stream heading for Ireland, potentially causing stormy conditions towards the end of the week.

According to the national forecaster, the weather is expected to remain very unsettled over the next few days, with Thursday and Friday looking particularly bad.

Western areas are likely to see the worst of the weather conditions, with very heavy rain at times and single-digit nighttime temperatures.
