Met Eireann is this afternoon warning of freezing temperatures over the coming weekend, with thermometers sinking as low as -3C.
According to the national forecaster, Friday will bring a mix of sunshine and showers, and maybe hail at times in western and northern areas.
Saturday and Sunday will be mostly dry, bright, and cold, with daytime temperatures barely reaching 6C.
