Met Eireann is warning of freezing temperatures over the weekend, with lows of -4C forecast for tonight.
The national forecaster says that there will likely be heavy snowfalls across some parts of counties Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon, and Sligo throughout the day.
Several weather alerts are in place.
