Met Eireann is warning of freezing temperatures returning from Wednesday night onwards, with the possibility of snow in places.
According to the national forecaster, some western areas are likely to experience snowfall throughout Wednesday night and into Thursday and Friday.
The outlook for the weekend is for subzero temperatures, reaching -3C at times.
