Met Eireann is this morning warning of temperatures plummeting to -2C later this week, with the possibility of snow in some areas.
According to the national forecaster, weather conditions will turn for the worse by Wednesday evening, with sleet and snow possible on high ground across Munster, Connacht, and Leinster.
The outlook is for cold and unsettled weather to continue into the weekend, with daytime temperatures remaining in single digits.
