The national forecaster has warned of the possibility that a severe storm might strike Ireland either by Saturday, or early next week.
If the prediction comes to pass, polling day might turn out to be a rather wet and windy day.
Met Eireann has highlighted that there’s still a degree of uncertainty about this however, and that stormy weather might also arrive on Monday.
The overall outlook is for very unsettled weather next week.
